Punch Brothers are the acoustic quintet of mandolinist Chris Thile, guitaristChris Eldridge, bassist Paul Kowert, banjoist Noam Pikelny and violinistGabe Witcher.   Says the Washington Post, "With enthusiasmand experimentation, Punch Brothers take bluegrass to its nextevolutionary stage, drawing equal inspiration from the brain and theheart."  Their latest album, the T Bone Burnett-produced, ThePhosphorescent Blues, was released in January 2015 on NonesuchRecords.
